Various units from II Marine Expeditionary Force have organized under the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit to form the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force – New York. The Marines are embarking on the Navy’s Amphibious Assault Ships, the USS Iwo Jima and USS New York (LPD-21) to take part in Fleet Week, May 25 – Jun 1.
