Soldiers from the 563d Military Police Company evacuate residents of 'Shantytown' at Muskatatuk Urban Training Center, Indiana, during a simulated mass casualty exercise during Exercise VIBRANT RESPONSE on 19 March 2011. VIBRANT RESPONSE 11.1 is a training event for the chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and high yield explosives (CBRNE) consequence management response force (CCMRF). The exercise focuses on the Department of Defense's support of civil authorities in a consequence management role. The CCMRF is part of DoD's scalable response capability to assist civilian responders in saving lives, relieving human suffering and mitigating great property damage in response to a catastrophic CBRNE incident.
