U.S. Airmen assigned to Kadena Air Base host a POW/MIA recognition ceremony on Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, Sept. 17, 2026. Following the ceremony, volunteers started the Kadena Air Force Base annual POW/MIA Day 24-hour run/walk at Volunteers are charged with keeping the flag in constant motion for 24 hours by walking or running. Participants can carry the flag alone or in a group and pass the flag off to a teammate at any time as long as it keeps moving. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Lance Cpl. Nathan Saucier)
