    1st Special Forces Command (Airborne)

1st Special Forces Command (Airborne) conducts a change of command ceremony on September 17th, 2026, in Fort Bragg, NC. Command Sergeant Major Lee Strong passed the dagger of command to Command Sergeant Major Joshua King after conducting a morning PT event. The dagger has particular significance in the Special Forces community because it represents the warrior ethos, readiness, and the responsibility to protect and lead the force. When it is passed among the leaders of the organization, the symbolism can be understood as the responsibilities being entrusted not only to the next leader, but also as a shared obligation among the Soldiers of the unit.
