U.S. and Angolan medical professionals move classified trauma patients to a designated safe area for follow-on care and reassessment during a simulated mass casualty event as part of the Angola Medical Readiness Exercise at Hospital Militar Principal, Luanda, Angola, Sept. 10, 2026. The training strengthened crisis-response readiness by requiring medical personnel to safely transition patients from initial triage to continued assessment and treatment following a simulated drone attack. MEDREX enhanced the medical readiness and capabilities of U.S. and Angolan military health professionals through clinical collaboration and subject matter expert exchanges. The exercise brought together 10 U.S. Army Reserve medical professionals with the 915th FRSD, 313th Hospital Center, 2nd Medical Brigade, and was planned and executed by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF).
