Delaware Air National Guard firefighters use hydraulic rescue tools to gain access to a simulated vehicle wreck during a Combat Readiness Exercise at Volk Field National Guard Base, Wisconsin, May 1, 2026. The training scenario required the Guardsmen to respond to a simulated on-base vehicle incident, stabilize the vehicle, cut through the frame to gain entry to the cabin, and safely extract a simulated passenger. The Combat Readiness Exercise tests the unit's rapid response capabilities and tactical proficiency in emergency rescue operations under simulated combat conditions.
