Members of the Vicenza military community participate in a 9/11 memorial run at Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy, Sept. 11, 2026. U.S. Army Col. Vaughn Strong, commander of U.S. Army Garrison Italy, provided a speech to provide perspective to those participating, encouraging them to never forget. The VMC hosted the annual 5K solidarity memorial run and stair climb to honor the lives lost during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the efforts of first responders. (U.S. Army video by Cpl.
