In a community as strong as El Paso, service doesn’t stop at the gates of Fort Bliss.
Fort Bliss Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers (BOSS) joined forces with El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank for United in Service, bringing Soldiers and community members together to help combat food insecurity across the Borderland.
Volunteers spent the day sorting, packing and organizing food for families in need, demonstrating how partnerships between Fort Bliss and the surrounding community can make a meaningful difference.
The event was more than an opportunity to serve—it was a chance to build connections. Volunteers took a brief break from the work to dance, laugh and enjoy the camaraderie that makes service to others so rewarding.
For BOSS Soldiers, the event highlighted one of the program’s core missions: providing Soldiers with opportunities to give back to their community while building lasting relationships beyond the installation.
Through partnerships like United in Service, Fort Bliss and El Paso continue to demonstrate that when military and civilian communities work together, they can make a greater impact.
