Matthew Christiansen, an emergency medicine specialist with 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, gives an interview during a combat trauma management course on Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 24, 2026. The CTMC is a three-week program designed to build corpsmen into adaptable and operationally capable medical providers. Throughout the course, the training is built around the realities of littoral and jungle operations that prepares providers to treat, sustain, and evacuate casualties in realistic conditions for prolonged periods of time.
