U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force Darwin clean up flower beds and construction debris ahead of a visit from children and teachers from a local Martapura school on a field trip to see the progress on the new school Sep. 1, 2026. The project included improvements to the school’s windows, plumbing, fans and concrete walkway to create a more suitable learning environment for students as part of Super Garuda Shield 2026. Super Garuda Shield is an annual exercise between the Indonesian National Armed Forces and U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities and cooperation.
