260814-N-CM110-1003 WASHINGTON NAVY YARD (August 14, 2026) – USS Missouri (BB 63) was manned by a crew of more than 2,500 American Sailors during World War II. Located at the Washington Navy Yard, NHHC serves the nation by preserving, analyzing, and presenting an accurate naval history to enhance the U.S. Navy's warfighting capability. As the Navy's institutional memory and knowledge foundation, NHHC supports the fleet with professional research, analysis, and interpretive services that reflect the Navy's enduring contributions to American history. To deliver these services, NHHC manages 10 museums and collections containing approximately 1 million historic photos, 490,000 artifacts, and 186 million pages of archival records. The command also protects lost ships and aircraft, maintains the iconic USS Constitution and Historic Ship Nautilus while educating Sailors and the public on America’s rich naval history and heritage.
