The upper cockpit longeron is a critical structural component of the T-45 Goshawk. The longeron was identified as a key component needing replacement to extend the service life of the aircraft for the Navy. Due to its unique capabilities, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) was chosen to manufacture replacement longerons, and to this day are the only facility delivering them to the Fleet. FRCSE has completed a total of 128 T-45 longerons, with 80 more in production. Delivering these longerons to the Fleet helps ensure T-45 Goshawks will be available for student naval aviators to hone their craft for years to come.
