U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 185th Civil Engineer Squadron, 185th Airlift Wing, Iowa Air National Guard, and U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 911th Technical Rescue Engineer Company, 12th Aviation Battalion, U.S. Army Aviation Brigade, work together during a civil engineering search and rescue mission at Volk Field Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC), Wisconsin, Aug. 24, 2026. Patriot 26, an Air National Guard-hosted exercise taking place at Volk Field CRTC, brings together approximately 1,000 Airmen and Soldiers from National Guard units across 35 states, along with federal, state and local agencies, to enhance domestic response readiness and interagency coordination during large-scale emergencies.
