U.S. Marines extract heavy armor and munitions from subterranean cave systems in Norway's austere terrain in preparation for Operation Atlantic City 26. Atlantic City 26, taking place on Jan Mayen island from August 26 to September 4, 2026, is a trilateral defense training event between the U.S., Norway and the United Kingdom designed to validate rapid force projection, enhance collective defense capabilities, and ensure readiness. The operation is part of Arctic Sentry, NATO’s enhanced vigilance activity for the High North, and will strengthen the Alliance's ability to operate jointly in challenging Arctic conditions.
