Go behind the scenes with the U.S. Army Parachute Black Demonstration Team at the 67th annual Chicago Air and Water Show over North Avenue Beach in Chicago, Aug. 15 and 16, 2026.
The airshow is an annual stop for the Golden Knights, but no two years are exactly the same. This year, weather brought changes to the jump plan and the airshow schedule, making flexibility and communication just as important as the preparation. The video follows Sgt. 1st Class Ben Hall, assistant team leader of the Black Demonstration Team, as the team works through the changes, prepares for the jump, and takes to the skies over Lake Michigan.
First held in 1959, the Chicago Air and Water Show is the largest and oldest free admission air and water exhibition in the United States, drawing more than one million spectators to Lake Michigan each year. (U.S. Army video by DAC Frank Strumila)
