    B-roll footage shows active-duty soldiers assigned to 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division (Multi-Domain Command-Pacific), removing brush from the side of a contingency fireline, on Aug. 22, 2026, near Plain Washington, on the Little Giant Fire. Approximately 250 active-duty U.S. Army soldiers are currently mobilized as hand crews to assist with wildfire suppression efforts at the request of the National Multi-Agency Coordinating Group (NMAC) located at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.
