Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) New Orleans Public Works Officer Lt. Cmdr. Patrick Shine gives a tour of some of the construction projects aimed at improving quality of life for service members and their families onboard the installation in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, Aug. 21, 2026.
Shine takes a closer look at barracks renovations, Child Development Center playgrounds, and construction of a splash park onboard the air station and shares why these quality-of-life projects are important to him.
NAS JRB New Orleans is home to 33 active-duty and Reserve component tenant commands from the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Army and Coast Guard. As a premier military training destination with direct access to Gulf of America airspace, the air station operates two active runways to support joint-force combat readiness and homeland defense missions.
