Observer, Coach/Trainers (OC/T) from across the Army participated in the Obstacle Course Event on day two of the Best OC/T competition at McGregor Range Complex, New Mexico, Aug. 23, 2026. Soldiers were challenged through many physical obstacles in search of the title of Best OC/T. The Best Observer, Coach/Trainer competition identifies the exemplary leaders and master trainers who leverage our greatest advantage, Army Reserve, Active-Duty, and National Guard Soldiers, to build the world's most dominant and combat-credible land force, disciplined in training, mastery of warfighting fundamentals, and the ability to outpace adversaries in a rapidly evolving security environment. The Gen. John J. Pershing Cup is the Army’s annual premier Best OC/T competition, a rigorous four-day competition taking place at Fort Bliss, Texas, Aug. 21-24, 2026.
