U.S. Marines with 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 26, and Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 268 (Reinforced), MRF-D 26, conduct fast-rope training in Darwin, Australia, Aug. 19-21, 2026. MRF-D is an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and allies and partners and provide a forward-postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific.
