To commemorate the 5th anniversary of SSC’s stand up as a U.S. Space Force Field Command on Aug. 13, 2026, Chris Pimentel, Mayor of El Segundo, Calif., presented a proclamation to USSF Col. Andrew Menschner, deputy commander, Space Systems Command (SSC), at Los Angeles Air Force Base in El Segundo, Calif. The day's events also included a cake cutting ceremony and STEM activities for the children of SSC's workforce.
