Air University students participated in Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force David A. Wolfe's Heritage Workout #1: The Birth of the Air Force at Gunter Annex, Alabama, July 27, 2026. The workout consisted of nine rounds of 18 air squats, 19 push-ups and 47 jumping jacks, representing Sept. 18, 1947, the date the U.S. Air Force was established as an independent military service. Students from the Air Force Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy, First Sergeant Academy and Chief Master Sergeant Leadership Course participated in the challenge, combining physical fitness with Air Force heritage.
