The supporting unit, 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment from Joint Base Lewis-McChord, is assisting the National Interagency Fire Center with wildland firefighting response efforts in eastern Washington. U.S. Army Western Hemisphere Command works in support of the lead federal agency, providing unique capabilities when requested by the National Interagency Fire Center.
