U.S. service members assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, conduct lifesaving medical training in Nogales, Ariz., July 25, 2026. This training, conducted alongside U.S. Border Patrol Search, Trauma, and Rescue (BORSTAR) personnel, enhances service members medical readiness and interoperability. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
