Oregon Army National Guard aircrews flew water bucket missions over the Hagen Fire in Umatilla County, Oregon, Aug. 10, 2026, delivering water from Langdon Lake directly onto active flame lines. This footage follows an HH-60M Black Hawk crew with Golf Company, 1st Battalion, 189th Aviation, working alongside a Cal Fire military helicopter manager to identify and strike a spot fire outside the main fire's perimeter.
The Oregon National Guard has supported Oregon's 2026 wildfire response since July 20, when a Black Hawk crew first activated to provide search and rescue medevac standby. The mission has since expanded to include additional Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters flying water bucket operations in coordination with the Oregon Department of Forestry and partner agencies from across the West.
