Airmen assigned to the District of Columbia Air National Guard’s 113th Wing conduct aerospace control alert operations and training at Joint Base Andrews, Maryland throughout this summer. The Guard members conduct regular training exercises to prepare pilots, maintainers and support personnel to execute the alert mission. Members of the wing maintain around-the-clock readiness to rapidly launch F-16 Fighting Falcons to identify and intercept aircraft in defense of the skies about the nation’s capitol.
