Luke Schultz, director, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) Small Business Programs, and acting director, Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) Small Business Programs, hosted a panel discussion during Life Cycle Industry Days 2026 (LCID) to discuss financing the fight and how to rethink capital and the defense innovation ecosystem. Panel members included: Mike Triplett of the Ohio Innovation Fund, Col. Nathan Stuckey, director of AFWERX and chief commercialization officer for the Department of the Air Force, John Hrivnak, the National Security Director for Red Cell Partners, and Mike Venerable, partner at the Ohio Fund. Co-hosted by Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) and Dayton Defense Life LCID and Air Force Research Lab’s (AFRL) Wright Dialogue with Industry (WDI) took place July 27 – 31, 2026, at the Dayton Convention Center in Dayton, Ohio. Though standalone events, LCID and WDI are aligned to gain efficiencies in sharing information, collaboration, and discussion. LCID focuses on the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center's future requirements, collaboration opportunities, and topics covering the entire acquisition life cycle and management across AFLCMC portfolios.
