Airmen from across Patrick Space Force Base help push a new fire engine into the 45th Civil Engineer Squadron fire department at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, Aug. 5, 2026. The 45th CES fire department welcomed a new fire truck by participating in a long-standing “housing” tradition that began in the 1800s when horse-drawn carriages, or fire carts, could not be backed into the fire station.
