Soldiers assigned to 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment, Joint Task Force-Bravo, land a HH-60 Black Hawk helicopter at Servicio Nacional Aeronaval Astillero Subteniente Rigoberto Castillo, Panama, during a medical evacuation rehearsal conducted with Panamanian paramedics from Hospital Santo Tómas, Aug. 8, 2026. PANAMAX medical planners coordinated with Hospital Santo Tómas for ambulance services in support of the exerise. PANAMAX 2026 seeks to improve interoperability and strengthen collective capacity to conduct complex multinational and all-domain operations to ensure the free flow of commerce through the Panama Canal and maintain security and stability in the region.
