The 1440nd Firefighter Tactical Group, Michigan Army National Guard, conducts Rescue Air Mobility (RAM) training during Northern Strike 26-2 at Camp Grayling Joint Maneuver Training Center, Mich., Aug. 6, 2026. Soldiers assigned to the 1440nd Firefighter Tactical Group were transported to the training area aboard a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter operated by the 1-135th Assault Helicopter Battalion, Missouri Army National Guard, before being escorted by the 1433rd Combat Engineer Company, Michigan Army National Guard, to a simulated vehicle extrication exercise.
Northern Strike is an Army sponsored, multi-component, multinational exercise designed to build readiness and enhance interoperability to fight and win. Northern Strike 26-2, Michigan’s largest and longest joint readiness exercise, is held from August 1 to 15, 2026 at the National All-Domain Warfighting Center.
