    Norfolk Naval Shipyard

This week, Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) began shifting to an Executive Steering Committee (ESC) model led by Executive Directors in the areas of Production Operations, Nuclear Operations, Industrial Support, Strategic Business and Command Support. This reorganization establishes a clear, unified chain of command with single accountable leaders who make up our new ESC. By grouping similar departments under these consolidated directorates, we will be able to deliver the needed “supported and supporting” relationships to provide rapid technical assistance, drive decision making, and ultimately improve work execution in meeting our critical mission.

Check out this message from our Shipyard Commander, Rear Adm. Kavon Hakimzadeh, regarding this new Command and Control (C2) Reorganization as he provides some insight of these new roles established and what it means for the shipyard as a whole.

Thank you for all you do and working with us to become an even stronger team in meeting our vital mission at America’s Shipyard!
