For the second consecutive year, Marine Depot Maintenance Command earned recognition in the Maintenance Innovation Challenge at the Department of War Maintenance Symposium.
MDMC received the People’s Choice Award for its Advanced Manufacturing Competitive Advantage Pathfinder and Digital Manufacturing Exchange initiative, presented by Col. Nicholas Lozar, MDMC commanding officer. Selected as one of five finalists from 59 submissions across the Department of War, industry and academia, the initiative was recognized by symposium attendees for accelerating part availability, strengthening secure digital manufacturing and improving force readiness.
The Digital Manufacturing Exchange enables the trusted, configuration-controlled production of approved parts in disconnected or contested environments. As demonstrated in the video, DMX distributes an approved 3D model to additive manufacturing facilities in Guam, Okinawa and mainland Japan, allowing a critical replacement part to be produced simultaneously at multiple locations.
By reducing supply chain delays, DMX helps return equipment to mission-ready status and sustain operations at speed and scale. The award reflects the dedication, expertise and collaboration of the entire MDMC team.
