Members of Asociația Spirit Tânăr observe (AST) and interact with Romanian and U.S. emergency service vehicles and service members at the airfield on Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base (MKAB), Romania July 17, 2026. AST, a Romanian youth organization dedicated to developing future leaders through civic engagement and educational experiences, visited MKAB to learn about the U.S. Army mission, emergency response capabilities, and life on the installation. Building relationships with organizations like AST strengthens the U.S.-Romania alliance by promoting interoperability, supporting recruiting and retention efforts, and fostering trust between Soldiers and the communities they serve.
