The Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill conducted a change of command ceremony for the 428th Field Artillery Brigade at Old Post Quadrangle on Fort Sill, Oklahoma, July 24, 2026. Col. Emiliano Tellado assumed command of the brigade from Col. Lazander Tomlinson, who relinquished command after leading the organization responsible for training every new U.S. Army Field Artillery Soldier through Advanced Individual Training.
During the ceremony, Tomlinson thanked the Soldiers, drill sergeants, instructors, DA civilians and contractors whose commitment to excellence drives the brigade's success.
Tellado arrived at Fort Sill after serving as the senior trainer at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California, and now leads the 428th Field Artillery Brigade as it continues its mission to train and develop the Army's next generation of Field Artillery Soldiers.
