Soldiers with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's International Rifle Team led the instruction of the Smallbore Small Arms Firing School on July 13, 2026. The Smallbore SAFS was part of the Civilian Marksmanship Program's National Matches, which includes the Smallbore and Air Gun Championships. The Fort Benning Soldiers led the class of 55 participants, who were mainly junior competitors, in both basic and advanced details on the Olympic-discipline of three-position rifle. This Olympic event requires competitors to fire from the standing, kneeling and prone positions.
