U.S. Army Soldiers with 3rd Battalion, 501st Aviation Regiment, Combat Aviation Brigade 1st Armored Division, and 2nd Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment, Headquarters & Headquarters Battery, both assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border in support of Operation Ardent Vanguard, insert with an Infantry Squad Vehicle during an air assault operation near Yuma, Ariz., July 8, 2026. The operation provides an opportunity for service members to utilize ISVs during air assault operations to navigate the harsh terrain of the southern border mission. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
