Officer Steve and Officer Tom, members of the 502d Security Forces Squadron, demonstrate the proper procedures for using the Electronic Personnel Security Gate at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, Texas. The Electronic Personnel Security Gate is a one-person access control system that allows authorized Common Access Card holders to enter the installation through a remotely monitored security checkpoint. Entry Procedures:
• Swipe your Common Access Card with the barcode facing up through the card reader.
• Wait for the "Enter" indicator, enter the booth when authorized, and allow the door to close behind you.
• Ensure bags or backpacks are positioned above your waist for screening.
• Scan your fingerprint when prompted.
• Proceed onto the installation when access is granted.
Exit Procedures:
• Press the "Exit" button.
• Enter the booth when the door opens and allow the door to close behind you or your group.
• Press the "Street Exit" button and exit the booth.
