Royal New Zealand Navy Polar-class auxiliary ship HMNZS Aotearoa (A11), Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Charlotte (SSN 766), Canadian Navy Victoria-class long-range patrol submarine HMCS Corner Brook (SSK 878), Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2), Republic of Korea Navy attack submarine Dosan Ahn Changho (SS-038), Los Angeles-class fast-attack submarine USS Columbia (SSN 771), Peruvian Navy submarine BAP Chipana (SS 34), and Peruvian Navy tank landing ship BAP Pisco (AMP156) depart Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, to begin the sea phase of Exercise Rim of the Pacific 2026, July 7, 2026. Thirty nations, over 30 surface ships, five submarines, 15 national land forces, more than 206 aircraft and 30,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC in and around the Hawaiian Islands, June 24 to July 31. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
