The "Flyer" supercomputing system opened at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, June 18, 2026. The ceremony marked the introduction of advanced high-performance computing capabilities that support Department of War science and technology, test and evaluation, and acquisition engineering missions. The Air Force Research Laboratory is the primary scientific research and development center for the Department of the Air Force and leads the discovery, development and integration of affordable warfighting technologies for air, space and cyberspace forces.
