NORFOLK, Va. (May 29, 2026) – Fleet Command Master Chief Jason S. Avin retires at the Macarthur Memorial, after 30-years of dedicated and honorable service to the United States Navy on May 29, 2026. A native of Long Island, New York, Master Chief Avin has served with distinction since enlisting in 1996. For three decades, he has stood the watch, dedicating his life to our nation's defense. His remarkable career is highlighted by numerous sea duty assignments aboard USS Boston (SSN 703), USS Louisville (SSN 724), USS Charlotte (SSN 766), USS Springfield (SSN 761), and USS Dallas (SSN 700), as well as a tour as Chief of the Boat on USS Annapolis (SSN 760). As the Fleet Command Master Chief for Commander, U.S. Second Fleet, his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment have been instrumental to our mission and the development of our Sailors.
