The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest is planting 3,000 Jeffrey Pine seedlings this month within the Tamarack Fire burn area near Markleeville, California, May 2026. The reforestation effort is a collaboration with the Rocky Mountain Research Station and the University of Nevada, Reno, with funding provided by CalFire.
