U.S. Airmen assigned to the 36th Contingency Response Squadron and 554th Rapid Engineer Deployable Heavy Operations Repair Squadron Engineers, U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to the 302nd Water Master Company, 9th Mission Support Command, U.S. Navy Sailors assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 1, and Assault Craft Unit 5 participate in recovery operations on Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, April 22 -28, 2026, following Typhoon Sinlaku. The Department of War plays an important role in disaster response and all efforts are in close coordination with and in support of the FEMA working with CNMI civil and local officials to recover from the devastating impacts of Typhoon Sinlaku.
