Airmen from the 134th Air Refueling Wing Medical Group recently completed emergency medical training for their CCATT (Critical Care Air Transport Team), in various weather-impacted scenarios.
A CCATT is a specialized three-person U.S. Air Force medical team comprising a physician, critical care nurse, and respiratory therapist that converts military aircraft into flying intensive care units. The teams annually train in varying weather conditions as they ready for any challenge ahead.
By providing in-transit care for critically-ill or injured patients, they ensure continuous monitoring during evacuation to higher-level facilities. (Video By Air National Guard Staff Sgt. Brandon Keys and Staff Sgt. Jesse Hanson)
