U.S. Army National Guardsmen from multiple states participated in the Region IV Best Warrior Competition at Fort Custer Training Center, Michig representing Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin competed in a series of an, April 30–May 2, 2026. Soldiersphysically and mentally demanding events, including M4 carbine and M17 pistol stress shoots, M240B machine gun and M110 semi-automatic sniper system familiarization fire, a day-to-night land navigation course, obstacle course, water survival event, appearance board, 12-mile road march, Army Expert Fitness Test, Warrior Tasks lane and a mystery event in which competitors assembled three weapon systems under time constraints.
