    Russian defensive engineer support includes many activities but countermobility is particularly important.
    Russian forces use a range of conventional countermobility capabilities as well as improvised and unconventional methods.
    They will be emplaced throughout the entire depth of battalion defensive areas.
    Countermobility capabilities are largely in a Brigade’s Engineer Battalion but combat subunits will also have organic countermobility.
    Mobile obstacle detachments will be used for maximum effect.
    Here are some common Russian countermobility systems. Note that rapid minelaying is emphasized.
    Countermobility enhances defenses and helps shape the offense.
    Assets are organic to combat units with additional capabilities from higher.
    They will leverage ALL capabilities- traditional and unconventional.
