U.S. Army Soldiers with 1st Air Calvary Brigade, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), conduct pre-flight checks near El Cajon Calif., April 15, 2026. JTF-SB provides a variety of support to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), including aviation. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and CBP within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
