U.S. Army Soldiers with 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB) highlight the unique military capabilities their unit brings to the southern border mission by supporting U.S. Marines and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents along the along the U.S.-Mexico border in Calif., April 23, 2026. JTF-SB provides a variety of support to CBP, including aviation. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and CBP within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
