Aircrews and support personnel from the 152nd Airlift Wing, Nevada Air National Guard; 146th Airlift Wing, California Air National Guard; and 302nd Airlift Wing, Air Force Reserve Command, conduct Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System annual certification and training at McClellan Air Tanker Base, California, April 19-25, 2026. The training prepares MAFFS-equipped C-130 aircrews and support teams for wildfire season. At the request of the National Interagency Fire Center, U.S. Northern Command may deploy C-130 aircraft equipped with MAFFS to support wildland firefighting operations.
