U.S. Army Sgt. Daniel Beltran, a bridge crew member assigned to the
809th Multi-Role Bridge Company, 7th Engineer Brigade, is awarded the
Soldier's Medal on U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria, Grafenwoehr, Germany,
April 24, 2026. Beltran received the award for jumping into the Danube
River to save a German citizen from drowning during an exercise. The
Soldier's Medal is the highest possible award that can be received
