Staff at the U.S. Naval Observatory Flagstaff Station celebrated the launch of Artemis II’s Integrity with a watch party. Later, USNO astronomers in Flagstaff were able to observe Integrity through the observatory’s 1.3m telescope. The images in this animation are a series of 1-second exposures taken on the morning of April 2nd, approximately 12 hours after launch.
The U.S. Naval Observatory provides a wide range of astronomical data and products essential for accurate navigation and the support of communications on Earth and in space.
