U.S. Marines with 1st Combat Engineer Battalion, 1st Marine Division, train Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 7, 1st Marine Logistics Group, all assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB) , on barrier reinforcement operations in Nogales, Ariz., on April 6, 2026. The training teaches Marines proper procedures for installing concertina wire and operating boom lifts long the U.S.-Mexico border. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
